About the Fall Forum 2026
December 2-4, 2026
The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel
Presented by The Bruman Group, PLLC & Invited Speakers
Description
NAVIGATING CHANGE, SUSTAINING IMPACT
While it has never been easy to manage federal grants, current developments at the federal level have made it even more challenging for states, school districts, charters, institutions of higher education, and non-profits to administer programs supported with federal funds. If you are current grants administrator, you do not want to miss our fall forum.
The recent proposed revisions to the Uniform Grants Guidance are a wake-up call to the grants community. OMB intends to politicize billions in federal grants, the responsibilities of pass-through agencies will be expanded without additional resources, subrecipients will need to provide more justification to support requests for reimbursement, and costs that are currently allowable may no longer be allowable next year.
Then there is the impact of the dismantling of the Education Department and the transfer of administrative functions to the Department of Labor and other federal agencies. As the Administration seeks to return education to the states, Secretary McMahon has urged the education community to seek waivers and other flexibility, including schoolwide consolidation of funds. On July 1, short-term Workforce Pell Grants will be available to postsecondary institutions and workforce development providers. How will this new funding opportunity be rolled out, and what will be the benefit to the nearly two dozen states that have now combined their Perkins, AEFLA, and WIOA State Plans? Let’s not forget about navigating change in the civil rights space. The proposed changes to the UGG incorporate many related Executive Orders, despite successful challenges in Court.
You’ll hear from our expert attorneys as well as ED’s Office of Inspector General, state and local officials, and AASA, The School Superintendents Association. This information-packed forum will provide you with the answers you need along with an opportunity to network with your colleagues from around the country.
We expect the forum to sell out quickly. Space is limited!
